White Elm Woodwork is a full service studio specializing in the distinctive design and creation of beautiful custom pieces for your home.

White Elm Woodwork has a unique feel with the soft natural earth tones and tree silhouette in the background; obviously done to compliment the nature of the business. The key to an attractive design is to not only consider the industry of the business, but to create a functionality that will simulate an experience that the customer can expect from the company as well.

An interesting featured integrated into the site is the use of Blogger - a template was created to mimic the site and create a seamless experience.

Team Rings

A gold or silver ring is a memory of your team that you will be proud to wear. It is a treasure that will last forever!

Though a fairly simple design, teamrings.ca allows for room to grow. Starting small and leaving space in a design is an excellent way to plan ahead with the evolution of a web site.

The banner incorporates a neat little random fade-in effect with the rings on every page load. This is accomplished using a few lines of JQuery code - a powerful and simplistic form of Javascript that we will be exploring much more thoroughly in future sites.

Smooth Transition Services

Smooth Transition Services' mission is to assist seniors and their families make lifestyle changes, as easy and worry-free as possible.

This site was built with seniors and accessibility standards in mind. The design features a high contrast colour scheme and large, clear font. There is also a text size adjust feature for further accessibility. The design also includes some relatives to the company owner, a nice personal touch.

There is a lot of white space, intentionally left for site growth. The client may need somewhere to add content, advertisements, etc. and ensuring that there is suitable space for such content can be difficult if not planned ahead.

Machine Advisors

A company that sells auctioned machinery throughout Canada and the United States.

This site is extremely content heavy and relies on a complex database system. The machinery is managed in an administrative area which is behind an SSL certificate and login security. Utilizing a database is the only way to manage vast amounts of content and data.

This site is still undergoing development and many features have yet to be included.

This site's design brings some bold contrasting colours and will feature a randomly displayed banner upon page load. A site must not only deliver it's content in a functional and user-friendly fashion, but it should reflect to the subject matter as well and compliment the context within the content.

Conestoga Trail Bluegrass Festival

An annual outdoor bluegrass and gospel music festival held in Princeton, Ontario.

The site has been re-designed and developed from it's original state (old.conestogatrailbluegrass.ca). It has been given some organized layout and structure; something that many amatures fail to bring to their websites. Although the site was not converted into a ColdFusion platform, plans for another overhaul and upgrade are in the works for next year.

It's A Mystery To Me

A murder mystery dinner theatre group; mysterytome.com; is an on-going project that is currently being converted from its original site structure and code to a ColdFusion based dynamic site. The original site design was kept (yet revamped), but the layout structure and menu system was completely reprogrammed.

It's A Mystery To Me is being completely redeveloped from a static numerous file, unstructured web site, into a ColdFusion based dynamic site and is being developed under the 'dev' subdomain. Although the design was left nearly exactly the same, the whole design concept was re-sliced and created to work with a CSS based layout format. The whole width of the site was increased to allow more content to be read easily without having to scroll as much. Many graphics were modified and added, such as the header picture frames (which will rotate with new images on page loads), and the menu graphics were completely re-created to allow for easy expansion and modification. An admin module will also be created and run off of an MySQL database, allowing the client to easily change key content.

Crawford, Graham & Associates

A financial consultation/advisory firm; crawfordgraham.com was completely redesigned a developed by Terran Creative.

Crawford, Graham & Associates was redeveloped from a partially static, partially dynamic ColdFusion site into a much more complex and functional, strictly dynamic ColdFusion online presence. A client login system was created to allow CG&A clients to access important financial information and proceed to other financial institution's login sites. The client continues to upgrade various components of the site, keeping much of it new and fresh to its visitors. Plans to upgrade and expand on the Flash banner are in the works as well.

Dublin Cleaning Services

A commercial and residential cleaning company; dcscleaning.ca is an on-going project that is gradually evolving new features and functionality.

Dublin Cleaning Services will shortly be completing the content for the unfinished sections and creating an point based estimate system that will be converted into a "Free Estimate" form visitors can complete and receive via email. The web site will also host a number of other content sections including FAQ, Green Products, Testimonials, and Feedback page. A standard SEO campaign will also be conducted once the site has reached a 'content-ready' status.

Old Mill Knitting Ltd.

A web site for knitting supply wholesalers; oldmillknitting.com is an on-going project that is currently being converted from its original site structure and code to a ColdFusion based dynamic site. The original site design was kept (yet revamped), but the layout structure and menu system was completely reprogrammed.

Old Mill Knitting Ltd. is undergoing a major site reconstruction under the 'dev' subdomain. Along with the ColdFusion conversion, new sections, such as the 'Retail Locations', are being created using a MySQL database. There will be an admin module developed to allow the client to update key sections at their own leisure.

The Needle Emporium

A knitting supplies online retail store; needleemporium.com is a legacy site (previous design work) with a new ColdFusion/CSS structure and layout.

The Needle Emporium was converted from its original strictly HTML (static) and ASP construction to a new, more flexible, dynamic ColdFusion web site. The shopping cart system was replaced with a ColdFusion based CartWeaver 2 - a much more efficient and productive cart system. The client has chosen to incorporate PayPal as a payment gateway into this cart. All products are dynamically retrieved and displayed from a MySQL database and many tweaks and updates have been added to allow for easier product navigation and selection.

The site design is old and dated and plans on in the works for a redesign sometime this year. Fortunately, the underlying ColdFusion code can be retained and used within the new design, saving much time and money on the client's behalf.
